PEJ synthesizes data from other organizations, giving more context to its examination of election 2012.
There is trove of data available about media and public interest in the candidates this campaign. Google, for instance, has introduced a set of tools under the name Politics and Elections that allow users to track the volume of search, YouTube downloads and media mentions by candidate-and to filter that by date and geography. As it tracks its own research, PEJ will monitor these other tools and incorporate findings into its analysis. The Google tools are here.
