Local TV Study: The first year of our five year study of local television news earned the Sigma Delta Chi Award for outstanding research in journalism in 2000.

 

Warp Speed: America in the Age of Mixed Media: This book, written by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel based in part on PEJ research, used the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal as a case study to analyze the outlines of the new media culture. It shared the Sigma Delta Chi Award for outstanding research in journalism with PEJ’s local TV study in 2000.

 

The Elements of Journalism: What Newspeople Should Know and the Public Should Expect: Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel’s book outlining the core principles of journalism earned several awards, including the Goldsmith Book Prize from Harvard University in 2002, the Bart Richards Award for Media Criticism from Penn State University and the Sigma Delta Chi Award for outstanding research in journalism in 2002.

 

The State of the News Media: An Annual Report on American Journalism: The inaugural edition of our annual report won the Bart Richards Award for Media Criticism from Penn State and the Sigma Delta Chi Award for outstanding research in journalism in 2004.
